Samsung Tizen Apps
Now we have the first Tizen smartphone too. Samsung Tizen apps. As we’ve seen with Windows 8/Windows Phone 8, apps are a very big deal the growth and success of any new operating system. Amidst the uncertainty, people have started petitions to develop an official Twitch app for Samsung TVs. Necessity is the mother of invention. Frustrated Samsung users have quickly spotted an open source Twitch client for Tizen, which can be compiled and sideloaded into Samsung smart TVs. The following example shows you how to create and configure a basic Samsung TV Web application project in Tizen Studio. An application project contains all the files that make up an application. To create the application project: Launch Tizen Studio. In the Tizen Studio menu, select File New Tizen Project. The Project Wizard opens. Note for TIZEN Users: Tizen has SDB which it uses for communication with connected devices. Therefore, if you are on Tizen, use this tool instead of the one mentioned in the article. Enabling the installation from Unknown Sources. Turn on your Samsung Smart TV. On the home screen, navigate to the Settings menu.
- Samsung Enhanced Messaging: available on Tizen and (Samsung) Android phones (should support Matrix) Samsung IAP: in-app purchase; Samsung SmartThings: smart home hub; Samsung Viv is an artificial intelligence platform that enables developers to distribute their products through an intelligent, conversational interface; Skype, network assessment.
- An okay-looking side scroller from TVGamesManiac (the Czech-based developer behind roughly half of the Smart TV games on the Samsung app store), Urban Ninja challenges you to help an assassin jump from building to building in abject silence by hitting the jump button at the right time.
